Running, Crawling, and Jumping While Sitting

One of the things that I really hate (and don’t miss) in having a conventional 9-5 job is getting caught in traffic. Sure, the subway systems in most mega cities in the country are excellent. However, your sleeping habits and will power to summon yourself out of bed may not be as effective as your locality’s transportation system. That’s why more and more people are now considering working at home. But is working at home as lucrative and as promising as working in a conventional job?

It’s definitely a luxury to be at home. Unfortunately, it’s a luxury that many simply can’t afford. You could choose not to be a slave of corporate

America and just stay at home and marinade on the TV the whole day. However, if you don’t have enough savings to support yourself through this kind of lifestyle, then you’ll surely starve in the long run. There are a lot of jobs that can be done at home. Many of these tasks involve data entry. This type of employment could definitely pay the bills. But if you’re looking for excitement, then this is definitely not the job for you.One of the things that entice people to try out being a private investigator is that it allows them to work at home. I’m sure I’ve already stressed in some of my previous articles that you don’t need to soil your shoes in order to perform the tasks or duties of a private eye. You could be in the thick of things even if you’re just sitting in front of your computer as far as investigating is concerned. In this age where every law enforcement agency or department has a database that can be accessed through the Internet, it’s not surprising that private investigators can take a close look at the evidence that the police or other investigators gather in the crime scene.Working at home doesn’t have to be such a bore. Try conducting investigations or background checks for a living. I assure you that it’s something profitable and worthwhile.

Take a Tip

If you’ve been following the articles that I’ve written since my blog’s inception, then you probably know by now that you don’t need a magnifying glass, cloak, and a silly hat to be a private investigator. I guess I’ve already emphasized enough that the task of a private eye mostly involves rummaging through papers or databases containing information about the person you’re checking on. But how do you really deal with all the heaps of information right in front of you?

Virtuous Search

The 2 most important virtues that every private investigator should have are patience and persistence. Sure, the Internet has made everything easy. But as in life, nothing will remain effortless. There will be times when your search will be fruitless despite having already spent countless hours in front of the monitor. This happens. So what should you do when you encounter such a situation?

Don’t quit.

I know it’s not that simple, and I’m telling you it’s not. A dead end does not and should not mean that your search should screech to a halting stop. I’m not telling you to go straight on to the wall. You’ll just waste time trying to force yourself on a means or method that did not and will most probably not work. For example, if you didn’t find a particular person on an SSN database, then chances are you really won’t find him there. That doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to locate him, though. Don’t be stubborn enough to rummage through the SSN list a hundred times just because you believe that that person has an SSN. Not all databases are free from glitches, you know.If a database or a method didn’t work for you, then try another one. If you can’t locate him through an SSN search, then try a reverse phone number lookup. If that didn’t work, then try a reverse e-mail search.

Don’t stop when you see a brick wall in your search. Don’t ram through it either. There are many solutions to a problem. There are many ways by which you could go over, around, or even under the wall. Don’t quit!

Hunter Hunted

I think by now you already have an idea on how easy it is to conduct a people search or background check on the Internet. More Than Enough

“I think there are more than enough of guys like you out there.”This was the response that I got from a friend when I asked him if he was interested in becoming a part time private investigator. I was expecting something worse than that, though. The last time I asked somebody if he was interested in conducting background checks for a living, all I got was a sarcastic “Yeah, right. As if that could even pay my phone bill.”

I don’t blame them for being skeptical about it. Some people think that you need a government accreditation or license to be a private eye. Others bear the opinion that there’s no money in this venture. Both inferences are erroneous, of course. You don’t have to worry about any bureaucratic red tape to start investigating people for somebody. Your bank account won’t even have to suffer by deciding to take such an undertaking. In fact, you might even do your savings account some favor by actually adding some substantial amount to it. I took on a seemingly difficult people search case last month. Guess how long it took me to solve it – 45 minutes. And how much did I earn? $150. Pretty amazing, huh?

I would be a fool to reveal this fact to you. I mean, I could’ve just kept my mouth shut and horde all the prospective clients for myself. But the reason why I’m encouraging people to try being their own private eye is because the demand is great. There’s more than enough for everybody. Try it, if not for the money, then just for the challenge of finding out something about somebody using the resources on the Internet.

First and Foremost

Many still harbor the erroneous notion that you need the skills of Sherlock Holmes in order to be a private investigator. That belief might have been true 20 years ago. However, in this day and age where anybody or anything can be traced in cyberspace, all that one needs in order to become a good investigator is a PC and an Internet connection. The paramount question perople ask at the outset is “How do I start to become a sleuth?

Sleuthing It Out

It has really been a while since my high school classmates and I have been together for dinner. There used to be a time when Friday nights meant camping in at one of my classmate’s backyard. Hmmm. I wonder where they are right now?

I’m not that old to be too nostalgic about it. However, there are many things that remind me of my high school buddies. It’s not surprising or unusual then to always wonder where they are or how they’re doing. It’s not that easy to get in touch with your former classmates. The saying that “life’s a constant change” is strongly felt after high school graduation. Everybody promises to stay the same and to keep in touch. More often than not though, these pledges are inadvertently broken or forgotten.I’m planning on inviting some of them for a small reunion after spring. I already lost my old phonebook. Although our yearbook has a list of the phone numbers and addresses of those who graduated that year, I doubt it if most of them still live in their former residences. Hence, I have to do a little sleuthing in order to contact some of my classmates.

I think it’s already easy to track them down considering that there are reliable databases on the Internet which could provide details as to the whereabouts of a certain person. My mom suggested that I hire the services of a private investigator. However, I’m quite reluctant to spend on something which I could do by myself.
