Guidelines to Vital Documents Search

When you are searching for vital documents, you need to follow some basic guidelines if you want the search to be successful. First, let’s discuss what documents are involved in a vital documents search.

Records Found in a Vital Document Search

Every vital records search will pull up a variety of documents. Those documents will vary depending on what can be found. However, you can rest assured that when you use a public records database that is updated everyday that you will get the most information possible.

  • Birth records
  • Death record
  • Marriage records / Divorce records
  • Adoption records
  • Address history, listed and unlisted phone numbers
  • Probate records, property records, court records, criminal records

Import Guidelines to Follow when Writing for Vital Documents
When you look for documents, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. It will make retrieving the documents easier when you send off for them.

  • Whe you are writing your letters, keep the information to the point. Keep out all the excess information that you do not need.
  • Only include one or two request and be careful not to write too much information.
  • Do include all the previous names, nicknames, and alternate spellings.
  • List all the dates for all the events you want checked. If you do not know the exact date, include a time frame for search information.
  • Send the request with a Self Address Stamped Envelope

The most important part is being patient. Remember, the people looking have other things to do. They will look as best as they can, but it takes them time to locate the information. When they find it, they will send you everything they have.

Writing for Birth Certificate Information
When you write the county for a birth certificate, you will want to include the following:

  • First and Last name of the Person
  • Date of Birth
  • Birthplace
  • Gender
  • Maiden Name of the Mother
  • Father’s Name
  • How you are related
  • Your name and address
  • Your driver’s license number
  • At Self Addressed Stamp Envelope
  • Make sure you sign the request

A Simpler Way to Search
Of course, a much simpler way to search for vital records is searching online. When you search online, you do not have to wait for someone else to look for the “right” form. You do not have to send off requests and wait for replies. More importantly, you can do it all in the privacy of your own home and you do not need all the information. You can look with just a name. Start searching vital documents now.

How to Use a Probate Search in Genealogical Research

Whether you are trying to find a long lost relative or trying to fill out the family tree, a probate search may be the answer you are looking for. Many people search birth records, marriage records, and divorce records but they forget about the probate records. This one simple tool can give you more information than you think. Here’s how.

Why Bother with a Probate Search?
What people do not realize is that the probate records contain more than just the property records. It actually tells you who the estate was given to and who thought they had a claim. That means you now get lots of names you may not know existed.

If a Will is involved, then you see who the deceased thought was important. The Will can include more than just immediate family. It may include cousins, aunts, friends and anyone else. Search through these names and you might find a family connection.

Sometimes, people are not included in the Will. They can file a claim with the court as well. These people are also included in the probate records. So not only do you see who the deceased thought was important, but you see who else thought they should be included.

Where to Begin with a Probate Search
The easiest place to start is online. You can search through the records online before ever reaching a courthouse. Unless you need an official copy, there is no real reason to go to the county court.

You will need the name of the deceased (decedent) to search online. If you know the state and county, then this will make searching online easier. However, this information is not necessary.

What to do with the Probate Information
You did the search and now you have all this information. Unfortunately, you do not know what to do with it all. It can be overwhelming but here are some tips on what to do next.

  • Birth Records Search – The first thing you want to do is search the birth records. This way you can get an idea if they belong in the family tree. Not everyone listed, will be part of the family.
  • Divorce Records Search – Once you find a member of the family, search the divorce records. Divorce records will list the spouse and any children.
  • People Search – The probate records will list the name and address. Conduct a people search to locate members and find out what they know.

You can start your probate search now and start filling out that family tree tonight. It is simple and easy.

Are You Thinking about Walking Down The Aisle? Check His Marriage Certificate History First!

So, you’ve met that special someone. You might be thinking, do I have a right to check his marriage certificate from a previous marriage?

And, to be honest, the answer is yes! You have a right to know about someone’s marriage history before you commit the rest of your life to him or her.

You don’t want to go into a marriage without knowing all the nitty-gritty details of his past. If you do, you’re likely to be surprised by information or behaviors that haven’t had the opportunity to present themselves yet.

Ghosts of Marriage Past

Sure, we all have a right to make mistakes, seek therapy, and change our life for the better. But, we also have a need to be upfront and honest with the ones we love.

If your lover or fiancé is hiding something from the past, then that might be something you need to know immediately before you get so many emotions tangled up into the equation.

And, beyond the emotional turmoil that you’ll face with a questionable partner, think of the fact that you’re entering a committed and binding contract with them.

It may seem like a whirlwind of romantic bliss at first, but you don’t want to be surprised by skeletons and ghosts flooding from your partner’s closet.

Honesty and Trust in a Marriage

If your partner hasn’t been completely honest with you, you need to find out! Hiding or lying about important details from previous marriages is the first sign of trust and abandonment issues.

And, if your partner has been married several times, then the likelihood of a successful marriage decreases. When you think that he might be hiding his marriage history from you, then he’s probably trying to hide the reason that those marriages failed.

In order to change or fix those problems, he’ll need to learn to be honest and forthcoming with any personal or psychological problems that he’s facing. Marriage isn’t all glossy daydreams. Love requires work, empathy, compromise, and understanding to really be successful in the long term.

You Need to Know About Past Marriages

A lot of vital information is on a marriage certificate. Dates, names, contact information, address histories, divorce information, and more. He may even have a marriage in his past that hasn’t been completely legally processed as a divorced!

You might need to know if he is telling you the truth. Who knows what you’ll find? The only way to be fully certain is to look up some hard copy, objective information. Don’t just throw your fate to the winds.

Download the marriage certificate documentation you need to investigate the hard evidence, and see if you and your partner are ready to move to the next step and walk down that aisle on equal footing.

How to Get a Marriage License Online

It may seem strange, but it is possible to get a marriage license online. However, it is important to note that it may only be ordered as a substitute copy. You will still need to have an original registered license in the court system.

A marriage license is a legal identifying document. It is essentially the recognition of a couple’s right to get married.

So, if you’re looking for a copy of a marriage license, this is the information you’ll probably need.

Information Needed for Applying for Your Marriage License Online

In order to get a copy of a marriage license, you’ll need the following information:

•    Applicant’s name

•    Telephone number

•    Order number or file number

•    Date of marriage or issue date of license

Now, this is just a copy, or a transcript, of the marriage certificate. However, it does prove the legitimacy of the marriage.

So this works if you need to prove your marriage’s legitimacy (say, to the IRS), or you’re curious about the legitimacy of a claimed marriage (say, for genealogical research).

General Requirements to Get a Marriage License

Though marriage license laws vary from state to state, if a marriage is legally recognized in one state, all states must recognize the union (according to the Full Faith and Credit Clause of the United States Constitution).

A couple seeking a marriage license must fulfill these requirements:

•    Man and woman are 18 or older, or have consent from parents or a judge

•    Proof of vaccination for certain diseases

•    Divorce or annulment documentation from any previous marriages

•    The capacity to enter into a contract

•    Must not be blood relatives

•    A 1-5 day waiting period (the waiting period can be waived in some circumstances)

•    A ceremony involving witnesses, a judge, minister, priest, or rabbi.

•    Recording of the marriage license

•    Consummation. Though consummation is not always required to recognize a marriage, a lack of consummation is usually sufficient grounds for annulment.

Other Ways to Acquire Marriage License Documentation

If you’re having troubles getting a copy of a marriage license in a certain state, then you might have to contact the county clerk’s office. You can request the documentation in person, by phone, or mail.

However, you should expect a longer wait. These offices are very busy.

If you are looking for a friend or relative’s documentation, then it might just be faster browsing through public records. Check out this site for your public record and marriage license research needs.

Has Your Lover Been Married Before? Check Their Divorce Documents Online!

If you’re curious about a lover’s previous marital status, or any marital problems they might have had in the past, then it would be in your best interest to investigate their divorce documents.

Knowing about the nature of your lover’s past relationships could be the best way to understand exactly what you’re getting into. Statistics show that that over 50% of first marriages end in divorce, whereas second and third marriages end in divorce 60-70% of the time.

So, before you jump into a marriage, you might want to keep in mind your success rate if you or your partner has been married before. And if you think that your lover has been hiding something from you, think about all the information you can attain in a divorce document.

Length of Previous Marriage

Sure, many people marry young, and those marriages don’t tend to last long. If their previous marriage was short, you may wonder why it ended so abruptly. If their marriage was rather long, you might ask yourself what changed in the marriage to end such a long relationship?

Sometimes marriages end in nasty affairs and adultery. Sometimes people just drift apart. If you’re thinking of being with someone for the rest of your life, you should probably know these things about your lover.

Did Your Lover Commit Adultery?

Toward the end of a marriage, it is possible for someone to seek satisfaction outside of their marriage.

If adultery was mentioned or accused during the divorce proceedings, then you will be able to find those accusations in the public divorce document. You certainly would want to know if your lover is the type to sleep with other people, especially if you are planning to get married.

These kinds of details tend to be kept private or hidden, but isn’t it your right to know if the person you are with is the kind of person to behave in such a risky and hurtful way?

After all, it could happen to you too!

Does Your Lover Have Kids?

If your lover has been married before, then it is also likely that they have kids or stepchildren. It is even more likely that he has child support responsibilities or other financial obligations to those children.

Before you get into a serious relationship, find out if your lover has any of these financial/emotional obligations. Search for divorce documents online and see if you and your partner are ready to take the next step!

How to Find an Online Marriage Certificate

There are a few reasons you could be looking for an online marriage certificate. You might be looking to get married online, you could be checking up on a boyfriend/girlfriend, or you might be tracing your genealogy. No matter what your reason, you came to the right place. You will find out what you need to know right here.

How to Get Married Online
Yes, you can get married online. Many people do it every day. However, it is not legally binding. Still, you can proclaim your love online, and they will send you a marriage certificate.

If you want the marriage to be legally binding, then you would have to get a marriage license. Find an ordained minister (which can be done online.) Then, have the ordained minister marry you. The paperwork is then filed with the county at which point the marriage is legally binding.

How to Check Boyfriend/Girlfriend Marriage Records
With first marriage divorce rates above the 50% mark, you have to assume that many people are divorced. Add in the second and third marriage divorce rates and you know that the dating pool is filled with divorcees. Do you really want to date someone who has been divorced five, six, or seven times? Or worse, someone who is still married?

There is a simple way to find out if the person you are dating is married or single. All you need to do is a simple online marriage record check. If they come back married, cross check it with divorce records to see if they are divorced. If no divorce comes up, dump them.

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Pull up a marriage records database online
  2. Enter the full name

We will use John Black as an example. My results bring up 30 results. I know John lives in Florida so that narrows my search to 15 people. He is also 36 and that narrows it down to 2 people. John used to live in Orlando and that only leaves one guy left, which means I have found my guy. It really was that simple, and it only took a few minutes.

Now I can crosscheck, his marriage records with divorce records to see if he is divorced. I find out he is divorced. Therefore, he is good to date.

How to Trace Genealogy with Marriage Records
Sometimes you want to trace genealogy and have no idea where to start. Marriage records can give you valuable information you may not already know.

1.    Start with your parents

  • Do you know mom/dad name?  Check Marriage Records
  • Their license will give the other parent
  • Their license will say where they are from
  • This will tell you where to find the Birth Records
  • This will give you their parents names
  • Check birth certificates to get grandparents names

2.    Repeat Step 1 with Each Name You Find

There is no need to waste time digging through dirty halls and driving all over town. You can start searching for online marriage certificates today. It is simple, fast, and easy.

How to Find Sex Offenders Online
The safest thing you can do for you and your family is to check for sex offenders. The federal government has made this safe and easy with Family Watch Dog. Just type in where you live, and it tells you where all the sex offenders live in your neighborhood. Nothing is quicker and simpler.

How to Find a Marriage Record Online
Unless you need a paper copy of a marriage certificate to change an insurance policy, driver’s license, or other legal document, a simple online search is all you need. For most people, simply seeing a copy of the court report is sufficient proof that the marriage took place.

  • State (Optional)

Once you gather all the information you can, you simply go online and input the data into a marriage records search. The more information you have, the better results you get. You will have to narrow down the results until you find the person. Then you can see each person that person has been married to and where they have lived. (The marriage license says where they are from.)

If you are interested in dating the person, then enter the information into an online divorce records search. This way you can find out if the divorce is final. At least, find out if they got a divorce.

Don’t stop there. Keep looking for more information. You can find out their criminal records, too.

Finding Criminal Records Online is Simple

The days of Leave it to Beaver are over. We need to protect ourselves and the only way we can do that is with information. You can find a marriage record, criminal background check, and other vital statistics. Check it out. You will be glad you did.

How to Find Dissolution of Marriage Records

The first thing you need to ask yourself when searching for dissolution of marriage records is why are you looking for the records? This simple question will make all the difference in the world when it actually comes to how you need to proceed to go about getting the records. If you only want it for personal knowledge, then it is very easy to get; however, if you need physical proof, it takes more work.

Who Needs Paper Divorce Records

  • Getting Remarried
  • Showing Sole-Custody of Child
  • Taxes

In these cases, they will have to track down the county court where the marriage was dissolved to get a copy of the court papers.

Counties have their own procedures for replacing court documents but generally, it involves signing papers in front of a notary. You will then have to pay some fees at which point the documents will be mailed to you.

Important Things to Include When Writing

  • date of request
  • full name of husband
  • full name of wife date of divorce or annulment
  • place of divorce (city or town, county, state)
  • the type of final decree
  • relationship to parties
  • the purpose for which the record is needed
  • requestor’s name & address
  • requestor’s driver’s license number & state (some counties require it)
  • requestor’s signature

Other Acceptable Reasons for Searching Divorce Records

  • Researching genealogy
  • Background checks
  • Boyfriend/Girlfriend
  • Husband/Wife

Many times, people do not need physical proof the divorce took place. They are satisfied seeing the record that the event occurred. They do not need to go through all the time and expense to hold in their hand the court document that states that someone was divorced.

Most people are completely satisfied seeing the court filed report online knowing they could go and retrieve the document. When you see a court filing online, you are seeing an unofficial version of an official document. It means a real court document exists and you can go pay the courthouse to retrieve the real court document if you so choose.

Finding dissolution of marriage records does not have to be difficult. Divorce was hard enough. Make finding the dissolution of marriage records simple by using the Internet tools available and save yourself the hassle of running all over town.

How to Find Public Marriage Records and Much More Online With Very Little Effort

Everyone has that one person in the neighborhood that no one knows anything about. Everyone speculates on researching private and public marriage records. They gossip about possible criminal records. They have that neighbor doing everything from being a poor ole’ shut-in to an insane axe murder with fifty women buried in the backyard.

Before Online Public Records Searches
In the past, that was all you could really do was speculate. If you really wanted to snoop, you had to hire a private detective. Then the private detective would call up people that knew the person. Go down to city hall and search through documents.

After hours of searching at city hall, the detective then would go to the police department to search through criminal records. The detective then would have to travel around to different cities to search for birth records, marriage records and so on.

The whole process would take days if not weeks and months to complete. Who would actually do this? It was more than time consuming. It was very expensive and you never really knew who people were.

Finding Public Records Now
Fortunately, this is not the case anymore. Now, you can search public records in the privacy of your own home in a matter of minutes. The results come back and no one knows you even looked it up.

What you need:

  • Name
  • Age (helps)
  • City (helps to narrow down)
  • State (helps to narrow down)

The more information you have on the person, the faster you can narrow it down to the correct person. Once you find the right person, it is only a matter of looking at the information.

Who Needs the Information?

  • Parents with kids – Finding a sitter is hard work. References are good but they can always be faked. A simple background check lets you know your sitter doesn’t have a criminal history.
  • Parents with teens – Let’s face it. We do not know all of our kids’ friends and their parents. A quick background check on the parents won’t hurt anyone.
  • Singles – Dating is hard enough. Why waste your time on someone who is lying about being married? A quick background check lets you know who is married and who is not. It also tells you who is a criminal and who is not.

Protect yourself and your family by finding public marriage records, divorce records, background checks, and criminal background checks. If you have their name and access to the Internet, then you can do be your own private eye.

Why Finding Online Marriage Certificates is Easier than Ever

For all of us dating, we need to know how to access online marriage certificates fast. It may sound pessimistic, but this is reality.  Half of all marriages end in divorce and that is only the statistics for first marriages. When you start getting into second and third marriages, the statistics get worse. We need to know up front if the person we are dating is divorced and how many times.

The Old Way of Searching Marriage Certificates

Back in the old days, if you wanted to know if someone had been married before you had to ask the person and trust he or she would give you an honest answer. If they lied, you had no real way of knowing. You could hire a private detective to search through endless stacks of documents in dusty old buildings but that would cost tons of money. Thankfully, this is not the case anymore!

The New Way to Search Marriage Certificates
Now all you need is a computer, the Internet, a credit card, and the person’s name. You go online to the marriage records database and type in the person’s name. Of course, the more information you have, the better results you will get. Age is always good because that narrows the field down quite a bit. The city and state also narrows down the field.

Once you narrow the results down to a single name, you click submit and voila! You have the results for the man or woman you are looking for. It really is that simple. All the skeletons are out of the closet. You now know how many times the person you plan on dating has been married. (Then you can jump over to the divorce record site and see if they are actually divorced.)

Search FOIA Made Easy
Combine the Freedom of Information Act with the Internet and you have the easiest way to check the background of anyone you date. Arm yourself with the person’s full name and go online.

You can check:

  • Marriage Records
  • Birth Records
  • Death Records
  • Divorce Records
  • Adoption Records
  • Property Records
  • Vital Records
  • Background Records
  • Criminal Records

Start your online marriage certificate search today. The records are out there waiting for you. See what you can find.
